Understanding that the right to data protection is a fundamental right, the Catalan Observatory for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Girona fully assumes the principles of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR, available from this link) and the Organic Law 3/2018, of 5 December, on the protection of personal data and guarantee of digital rights (LOPDGDD, available from this link), regulations that provide guarantees to individuals in relation to the processing of their data.
